Patty O’Neil, the winner of the TV reality show, The Hero, broadcast this summer on TNT, is the first recipient of the Empowered Woman Award from the Women’s Empowerment Initiative.
Patty says being on the show (and winning the majority of final votes by the American audience) was a truly empowering experience in every respect. She successfully battled not only all the other contestants on the show, but also overcame several of her biggest fears. She survived a school bus filled with tear gas, scaled down the inside walls of a deep, dark and wet cave, and even walked a hire wire between two skyscraper buildings in the finale to earn the respect of her fellow competitors and win over the hearts and minds of a national (and international) television audience to be crowned “The Hero” by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the television finale broadcast in early August of this year.
Stay tuned for more information about Patty’s inspiring and empowering experiences in being voted “The Hero” on national TV when we share her thoughts, insights and personal stories from the show from our interview with her in an upcoming issue of the Empowered Woman 2.0 Newsletter and feature interview segments with Patty here on the Women’s Empowerment Website.
